OTTAWA -- Mohamed Harkat, who has been in jail for two years while the government tries to deport him as security threat, has lost his bid for freedom.

A Federal Court judge ruled Tuesday that a security certificate issued against Harkat is "reasonable."

Judge J. Dawson also dismissed Harkat's constitutional challenge of legislation that allows Ottawa to issue such certificates.
